THOMAS M. QUINTER, 89, OF POTTSTOWN Thomas M. Quinter, 89, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Sanatoga Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Harriet G. Quinter (Gaugler) who passed in 2000. Thomas was born September 25, 1926 in Pottstown, PA. He was the son of the late Milford T. Quinter and Marion Quinter (Moyer). Thomas served in the Navy during WWII and was a welder at Stanley G. Flagg Co., for 34 years until 1989. He was a life-time member of the Gilbertsville Fire Company, and a member of the American Legion Post. He also enjoyed carpentry, wood-working, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Thomas saw good in everybody and would do anything for anyone, especially his family. He is survived by one son, Gary Quinter and his companion, Debbie, of Coal Township, PA; one daughter, Kathy Eltringham of Gilbertsville, PA; five grandchildren, Jessica, Thomas, Stephanie, Justin and Ryan, and three siblings, Ida Gilbert, Amelia Chalifoux and Kenneth Quinter In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his grandson, Jason, and three siblings, Arlene Levengood, Linwood Quinter and Milford Quinter An evening viewing will take place on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday morning February 27, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St. Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
