Wayne Lance

Wayne C. Lance, age 86, husband of Ida (Boyer) Lance, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 with his wife of 62 years by his side. Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late William and Mary Agnes (Owens) Lance. Wayne was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Renningers Supermarket, Schwenksville, until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schwenksville where he served as an usher and on the Church Council. He was also active in the Schwenksville community serving as a volunteer fireman, little league coach, and with the boy scouts. Wayne will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Surviving along with his wife are a son, Terry Lance of Phoenixville, daughter Sandra (Lance) Ling (wife of Brian Ling) of Barto, one sister, Beverly Coombe of Florida, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Wayne was predeceased by one son, Dean Lance. He is also predeceased by three brothers, Ronald, George, and William, one sister, Marjorie. His sister, Grace, passed away four days after Wayne at age 104. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schwenksville beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Church. Memorial donations can be made in Wayne’s memory to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schwenksville.
