WILLARD Y. BENNER, 80, PHOENIXVILLE Willard Y. Benner, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Phoenixville Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was born in Souderton, PA, on April 24, 1933 to the late Charles and the late Leanna (Yoder) Benner. Willard was married to Marjorie Bechtel on June 5, 1954. Willard was a member of the Vincent Mennonite Church where he taught the adult Sunday School Class. Willard was manager of The Phoenix Car Wash for 32 years. After retiring from the car wash, Willard drove a small bus for twelve years, for the Spring Ford School District. Willard enjoyed nature and spent time in many outdoor activities and hobbies; including gardening, hunting, fishing, and photography In addition to his wife, Marjorie, Willard is survived by two sons, Wayne and David and his wife, Donna, both of Schwenksville, PA; a daughter, Wilma Cordes and her husband, Mark of Ringwood, NJ; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl, in 1995. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m., at The Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 W. Seven Stars Road, Spring City, with the Reverend Tim Moyer officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held in The Vincent Mennonite Cemetery, Spring City, PA. The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
