Poughkeepsie - Akeem Mahid Stevens Jr. affectionately known as "Keem Keem" was a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday January 10, 2021 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY surrounded by his family. Akeem was born February 3, 2006 in Newport, VA. He was the son of Quadria Breaker, (Stepfather) Germaine Lowe and Akeem Stevens.
Akeem was baptized at an early age at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Poughkeepsie, NY. Akeem received his education in the Poughkeepsie City School District. He enjoyed playing Modified football for Poughkeepsie. Akeem was a student of REAL Skills after school program and Jennies cooking class. Akeem loved music! He wanted to become a music engineer and artist. He would go to Fast Life and Quad recording studios with his brother and stepfather. Akeem was so eager to learn from Surge, he absorbed everything he could hoping to forge ahead. Akeem had a bright future ahead of him! His main plan was always to take care of his family. Anyone who knew Keem Keem knew he was a social butterfly who loved people and life. Akeem would protect anyone he cared about.
His loving memories will forever be cherished by his siblings. Akeem leaves behind three sisters: Zahliyah Stevens. TayziaBreaker, and Tanya Midgette all of Poughkeepsie NY; seven brothers: Kayden Midgette, Zurean, Zymaine, Zavion, Zion, Zayden Lowe all of Poughkeepsie, NY; and Zarieon Issac also of Poughkeepsie; Grandparents Dianne Joy, Nathaniel Breaker, Melissa Stevens, and Anne Gamble; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and many special friends.
To know Akeem was to have unconditional understanding like no other. Akeem had a pleasant personality and carried an unforgettable smile that brightened the world. Akeem was a genuine, sincere individual who loved to play around. All who knew Akeem loved him and will miss him deeply.
Mr. Stevens will have a Walk-Through 9:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, 43 Fairview Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
