Flock Jr.

Hyde Park - Benjamin Joseph Flock, Jr., 81, a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center.

Mr. Flock was a carpenter with the former Carpenters Local #203, now local #19 of Hawthorne, NY. He retired in 1992.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a member of the NRA, the Hudson Valley Sportsman Association, the Northern Dutchess Rod and Gun Club, and the Crum Elbow Sportsmen's Association.

Born in Poughkeepsie on April 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Benjamin Francis Flock and Helen Tulacz Flock.

Survivors include his son, Benjamin Mark Flock, and wife, Amy, of South Glastonbury, CT; daughter, Karen Flock LaVoie, and husband, Kevin, of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Debbie Flock Jeffreys, and husband, Thom, of Milan; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Kaleigh, Ashley, Jackie, and Shannon Flock, Melissa Hoines, Megan, and Kelly LaVoie, and Adam Jeffreys; great granddaughter, Isabel, and great grandson, Ian.

He is also survived by the loving mother of his children, Jean Haight, of Red Hook, and his loving life partner of 29 years, Diane Flock.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Flock.

Calling hours will be from 6 pm to 8 pm, Monday, August 8, 2011 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday, August 9th at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
