I'm sorry to realize that Babo Castillo is no longer with us. He was good to me when I was trying out for the Monterrey Sultanes, he was welcoming to me and after all these years I still remember Castillo's good heart towards me. The only reason I got to try out was because I was from Kentucky and I asked the head coach of the team, Derek Bryant, from Lexington Kentucky, and Derek was cool enough to grant me a try out even though I really didn't belong on the field with the professional players.RIP Babo

Hey Bobby, I never knew you but my Parents sure did because they attended Lincoln HS with you. They told me about you and I was so happy that a Dodger Pitcher was a classmate of my Parents. I know its been a while since you went to be with the Lord, but even to this day you are still admired and respected by me as well as others because of the man you were. Your Family are very blessed to call you their own. You are never forgotten Mr. Castillo!

John 11:33 says: "When Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her weeping and groaning, he groaned within himself and became troubled." Jesus expressed tears when his friend Lazarus died, he knows how it feels to lose a dead loved one and he understands what you and your family are experiencing. May this bring you and your family comfort in this time of need. cjp (fla.)

Bobo !
You will always be the man who struck out Johnny Bench & preserving a Dodger victory which you did so many times over & over. I had the privlegde of meeting you @ Dodger Stadium one evening warming up in the bullpen getting ready to come in relief & asked you in a very polite manner if I may have the ball you were warming up with before you go into pitch & you walked right over & handed me the ball & picked up another to start warming up again. You are a very class player & person & I will always be great full too you. Thank you for the Memories Bobo, RIP my friend.

Always tough when Baseball loses a good one, and Bobby Castillo was amongst the best. His boyish grin and unyielding enthusiasm made the game fun.

I remember going to a game and seeing Bobby in the bullpen. Asked him for his autograph, and he said he'd do it later. Well, later never came. So, I decided to send him a "fan" letter, telling him what I thought, and sent along the page in the program I had wanted him to sign. Lo and behold, weeks later, I received the picture back in the mail along with his autograph! One of my favorite stories to tell. May he rest in peace.
