Carl C. Morris

Beacon - Carl C. Morris, 89, of Beacon, died Monday, October 20, 2014, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born May 5, 1925 in E. Fishkill, he was the son of the late Ernest and Emma Holsipple Morris.

He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #203 in Beacon.

Carl worked for Western Printing in Poughkeepsie as a Forklift operator for 37 years.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Morris and wife, Caroline, of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Linda Ritch and husband, Walter, of Clinton Corners; son, Brian Morris of Poughkeepsie; brother, Robert Morris of Lagrangeville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Gary Morris in 1973.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 PM Friday, October 24, 2014, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
