SPRINGFIELD, VA - Elizabeth A. Plain Janson died peacefully on July 8, 2011 in Springfield, VA at the age of 88.

Mrs Janson was born Sept 1, 1922 in Hyde Park, New York and was the daughter of the late Laura Moore Plain and William J. Plain.

She was predeceased by her husband William H. Janson in 1982.

Mrs. Janson was a native of Dutchess County and a resident of Springfield, VA since Dec 1999.

She was a long time community volunteer, having worked at St. Francis Hospital, the National Park Service, and Dutchess County Tourism.

She is survived by her children, Mary Janson Roper, Burke VA, David William Janson, Myrtle Beach SC, and Robert Ferris Janson, Arlington, VA; her grandchildren Kristina Voerman Gill, Lara Voerman Taibl, Jennifer Jason, Emily Janson, and Garrett Janson; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Gill, Katherine Gill, Virginia Gill, Hayes Taibl, Grant Taibl and Mary Lane Taibl.

The Family will hold a celebration of her life during Mass at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie on August 6th at 10:00 am. All are welcomed.
