Harmonay

Beekman - George F. Harmonay of Beekman passed away on May 8, 2012 at his home. He was 86.

Born on February 13, 1926 in Yonkers to the late John A. and Anne Bartko Harmonay.

George married the love of his life in 1970 Lee Nolan. Lee passed away on February 19, 2000.

George was a retired Splicer for New York Telephone in Yonkers retiring in 1978.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving his country during World War II destroyer escort service. Serving in the North Atlantic. He was the former commander of the American Legion Post 739 in Pleasant Valley.

He is Survived by his loving children: Lynn Harmonay, Gigi Harmonay-Oberlander, William Harmonay, Debbie Harmonay-Schiavo, Timothy Bodisch. Loving grandfather of 16 and beloved Great Grandfather of 7.

He was predeceased by one son Paul Edward and 3 brothers.

Friends may call on Thursday May 10, 2012 from 4-9pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 11, 2012 at 10am at Church of St Denis. Interment to follow in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
