Grace Clarke Obituary
PAWLING, NY and VENICE, FL - Grace Adelia Coe Clarke died on November 27, 2011 at age 80 in Venice, FL. She died of bone cancer. Grace was born on May 31, 1931 in Pawling, NY to Alice Bennett and John Phillip Coe. She was married to Douglas Clarke, who died in 1996.
Grace graduated from Pawling High School and lived in Pawling until 1992, when she moved to Venice, FL.
Grace loved her family, her friends, gardening, tennis, and Pawling. She was a homemaker, and operated a preschool and Ye Olde Antique Shoppe in Pawling for many years.
Grace is survived by her fiance, Mark Maisonville, her children Kevin Clarke of Fryeburg, ME and her daughter Leslie Clarke of San Diego, CA, and grandsons Emerson Clarke and Arin Miller. Her daughter Claudia Beth died in 1955. She is also survived by her sister Joan Brill, nephew Charlie Jones, Jr. and nieces Gail Giddings, Patti Ring, Jerelyn Smith, Linda Gerringer, and Jennifer Kinney.
Visitation will be on December 1, 2011 between 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling. Her funeral will be on Friday, December 2nd at 11am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Coulter Avenue, Pawling, New York. A reception will follow at McGrath's Tavern at 146 East Main Street, Pawling. Grace will be buried in the Pawling Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House of Venice Florida, 210 Wexford Boulevard, Venice, FL, 34293.

Nancy & I are shocked to receive news of Grace's passing. Alice Coe was a very close sister-like friend to my mother, Anna I Walters way back when we lived on the farm which is now the Cushman Estates, where I was born. when we moved to West Street, many, many picnics and parties were held in the lower yard of the Westerguard Home, where Ann & Grace and John grew up. Many, many fond memories are now being drawn upon. Bless Grace and I will try to attend either the wake or funeral. We now live up in Potsdam, NY
