Jacob J. Broschart

Rhinebeck - Jacob J. Broschart, 80, of Rhinebeck, NY, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his home. Jake was born December 14, 1930 in East New York, NY the son of the late Jacob L. and Alice Sinken Broschart.

On October 6, 1962 in Ridgewood Queens, NY, Jake married Madeline M. Frank. Mrs. Broschart died on April, 10, 2000.

In 1974 Jake and Madeline moved upstate from Brentwood, NY to Rhinebeck.

He is a longtime member of St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church in Red Hook, NY.

He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed gardening and landscaping. His yard was always plentiful with fresh fruit trees and vegetable gardens.

Mr. Broschart served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Security Guard for many years for Litcom Communications in Suffolk County, NY until his retirement.

Jake is survived by his long time friends Barbara, Shannon and Ronald Rhynders Jr. of Red Hook.

A special thank you is extended to Hospice, Dr. Lauren Herchak and her staff at Health Quest Medical Practice in Rhinebeck for their compassionate care for Jake over the past few months, Mandy Coon, Annette Coon and Mrs. Ann Schram.

A mass of Christian Burial will celebrated 10 AM Friday, October 21st 2011 at St. Christopher's Church, 7411 South Broadway, Red Hook. Rev. Xavier S. Santiago will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Barrytown, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzgerald & Rhynders Funeral Home Hyde Park, NY.
