Jerry Pine

West Melbourne, FL - Jerry Pine, 83, lately of West Melbourne, FL died at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL on Sunday, November 4, 2012.

Mr. Pine was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up there and in Wurtsboro, NY. He served in the US Army and Army Reserves from 1948 to 1954. In 1954, he joined the New York State Police Department, where he served as a Trooper stationed in Endwell, Rhinebeck, and Kingston, until his retirement in 1980. He was Secretary-Treasurer of the Fraternal Order of NY State Police for many years. In 1962, he married, Sharon Ayres in Endwell, NY and they moved to Red Hook, NY where they raised their family. After his retirement, Jerry and Sheri settled in the Syracuse, NY area. Jerry loved his family, being a Trooper, and a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants.

He is survived by his daughters, Shawn (Robert) Burns of Melbourne Beach, FL and Jenny Zullo of Virginia; granddaughter, Julia Zullo of Warrenton, VA.

Jerry Pine was predeceased by his son, Brent Pine in 1986 and his beloved wife, Sharon in 2011.

Interment for Jerry and Sharon will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY at a later date. Contributions can be made to hospice at www.hospice.health-first.org
