John Chutka Obituary
Chutka
Armonk - John Robert Chutka 78, of Worcester, NY (formerly of Wingdale, NY) passed peacefully at home with his wife on Saturday September 1. He was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Mitchik) Chutka. John attended Mt. Kisco High School and in 1951 joined the United States Navy and is a veteran of the Korean War.
On October 31, 1953 he married his life long love Joan E. Robbins of Armonk, NY who survives at home. They shared nearly 59 wonderful years together celebrating life, love and family, making many wonderful memories: traveling, camping, snowmobiling, dancing, tending a farm, and sharing their time with family and friends. John was the epitome of many things; loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was patriotic and diplomatic; a true gentleman to any and all who knew him.
John was an active member of the international Union of Operating Engineers Local 137 of Briarcliff Manor, NY for 30 years.
John was survived by his wife and daughters June A. Chutka of Dover Plains, NY, Jannette Gardner and husband James of Worcester , NY, and Jean Gazzoli and husband Todd of Dover Plains, NY.
Grandchildren include Jessica Chutka and fiancée Jeffery Pelletier of Dover Plains, NY, Alicia Short and husband Terence of Millbrook, NY, Joseph, Johnathan, and James Gardner of Worcester, NY, and Annika Gazzoli of Dover Plains, NY.
Great Grandchildren Karly and Kaleb Holmes of Dover Plains, NY, Autumn Chutka, and Abigail, and Joshua Short of Millbrook, NY, as well as sisters Virgina Mead of Brewster, NY and Mary Torlish of Carmel, NY. As well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents as well as brothers William, Walter, and Paul and sister Marjorie Anderson.
Visitation will be held at Balsamo - Cordovano Funeral Home, 15 Church Street - Carmel, NY 10512. Phone: (845) 225-2144, on Thursday September 6th from 5-9. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am the Funeral Home on Friday September 7th. Interment to follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery.
