John Higgins Obituary
MILLBROOK - John A. Higgins, a long time resident of Millbrook, passed away September 7, 2013. He was 88. John, an only child, was born on October 27, 1924 in New York City to Dominick and Theresa (Casey) Higgins. He worked as a Construction Estimator. On September 6, 1965 he married Bernadette Shaughnessy in Saint Paul's Cathedral in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John was a daily Communicant since childhood and treasured his Catholic Faith. John is survived by his wife, Bernadette; his three children, Vincent (Elizabeth) Higgins of Houston, TX, Father John Higgins, of Peekskill, NY and Regina (Erik) Syversen of Stanfordville, NY; and his beloved grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY 12545. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church in Millbrook at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 10th. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Millbrook.

Bernadette and All
Chris and I are so sorry to hear of John's passing. I have great memories of John at the farm when Susan and I were younger. Wow, he sure did take them all on the "horses" and he was always there during hunting season. Loved John, and love you all. We are thinking of you.
