John " Jack " I Lashway

Rhinebeck - John "Jack" I. Lashway, age 85, of Rhinebeck, died Monday, January 25, 2016 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. Jack was born January 15, 1931 in Plattsburg, NY. He is the son of the late Henry D. and the late Harriett (Reichardt) Lashway. He married Janet I. Bissett on June 1, 1952 at Cobleskill First Baptist Church.

He was employed by Green Haven Correctional Facility Stormville New York as a Correction Officer, Retiring in 1986 after 26 years of service. In his younger years he was a Deputy Sherriff in Schoharie County. Loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter. In his retirement Jack did Wildlife Art work and was known as the American Artist. He loved to travel especially in the Western part of the USA.

He is survived by his wife: Janet I.(Bissett) Lashway ; son and daughter In-law, Tod and Sally Lashway of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter and son In-law, Adrienne and Ben Burruby of Salt Point, NY; granddaughters, Sharon Lashway, Jessica Johnson and her husband Joshua; grandsons, Zachary Burruby, Jacob Burruby and wife Jillian, great grandchildren Sophia Burruby and Samuel Johnson.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 29, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Pleasant Valley First Presbyterian Church Route 44, Pleasant Valley, NY. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
