Born November 30, 1942 in Portland, Oregon, he was the son of the late Joseph Charles Rebholtz Sr. and Sadie Ester Hall Rebholtz. He attended Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon.

Joseph served our country in the United States Air Force, based out of Nevada, from 1960 through 1964.

He worked for IBM, starting in Oregon in 1972, and happily retired on February 29, 2008 (43 years later) as a computer programmer based out of Poughkeepsie.

His favorite pass time was correcting grammar and tipping servers with rare monetary denominations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Joe and wife, Judy, of Rhinebeck, Jason and wife, Kelly, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Jenifer and husband, Michael, of Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Joe was always very kind to us. Along with Nancy, we were always greeted with a friendly hello. As the days and weeks pass, may you begin to feel the healing of your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe's entire family as you embark on this journey through grief.

I only met Joe a time or two over my 58 years, but sure enjoyed spending time and talking with him when I was able. He was my father's first cousin and the son of my grandmother's sister. My father's side of the family was not too large, and I only met a few of his close relatives. I'm glad Joe was one of them. He and my dad were very close, and my dad, 14 years older than Joe, was very, very fond of him. My condolences to Joe's family.

I worked with Joe remotely at IBM. I was always impressed by his technical knowledge. I still see traces of him in the code. Truly one of the best.

So sorry for Joe’s passing. He was my my mentor at IBM. Taught me a lot. Gave me my first motorcycle ride! I have many memories of him.

Condolences to all the Rebholtz family. Joe and I worked together for many years. We shared some adventures together. We went to the drag races in Vineland N.J. and even went on a cruise together with his son. It was a TIGER cruise on the JOHN F KENNEDY (CV67) From Portland Maine to Norfolk Virginia. His son was a member of the crew. Thanks to Joe, it was a once in a lifetime experience for my son and I. Rest in peace my friend
