Joseph Versace Obituary
Raleigh, NC - Joseph John Versace, 79, passed away on July 09, 2013.
Joseph was born on October 17, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Antonio and Rose Versace.
Joseph was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School, Dutchess Community College, and the IBM Manufacturing Trade School.
Joseph served in the U.S. Navy Armed Forces and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Rosemarie Debra Sinisi on January 26, 1957.
He moved his family to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1976.
He was employed by IBM Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineer for 36 years until he retired in 1991.
Joseph enjoyed volunteering as a State Tax Counselor for the Elderly and AARP, volunteering for the Wake County Board of Elections as a Precinct Official, and spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Rose Versace, sisters Mary Idema and Rosanna Tompkins, brother Dominick Versace, and son Michael Versace.
Joseph is survived by his wife Rosemarie; children Kathleen Vergili and husband Kenneth of
CA, Linda Versace, Craig Versace and wife Abby, and Matthew Versace and wife Leslie of NC; as well as his grandchildren Garrett Vergili, Dominick Vergili, Joey Versace, Alaina Versace, Mia Versace, Sarah Versace, and Ryan Versace. Joseph is also survived by his brothers Phillip Versace and wife Honey and John Versace of NY, brother Anthony Versace and wife Jennifer of Arizona, sisters Catherine Bracone, Theresa Milano, and Dolores Shaughnessy and husband Edward of NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Wake will be held in his hometown at Parmele Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home 110 Fulton Avenue in Poughkeepsie, New York on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mary's Church 231 Church Street in Poughkeepsie, New York on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM. A burial will follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery , Poughkeepsie, New York.

TO Rose and the Versace Family,
I was saddened to read of the passing of Joe. I have great memories of the days we spent together playing sports and at the old YMCA. We then worked together at IBM completing the Toolmaker Apprenticeship Program. He was a great guy and always fun to be around. May he rest in peace.
