Karl Beinwald Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE- Karl T. Beinwald, 72, of Poughkeepsie passed away on May 16, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
He was born in Berlin, Germany on May 28, 1938, the son of Carl & Gabriella Burn Beinwald. He came to New York City in 1945, then to Gardiner, NY in 1948 and most recently lived in Poughkeepsie. On April 30, 1961, he married Lucille A. Renzo at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. She survives at home.
Karl served in the USMC from 1956-1966 during the Viet Nam War. He worked as a self-employed Pool Contractor for Town & Country Pools in Poughkeepsie. Karl was a member of the NY Central System Historical Society, Sierra Club, The Marine Corp. Assoc., and the National Trust for Historical Preservation.
He enjoyed reading about and visiting Military & Railroad Historical Locations. He was a loving husband, proud father & grandfather and wonderful uncle. Along with his wife, Karl is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Karl M. & Theresa A. Beinwald of Newburgh, NY, granddaughter, Kayla Bienwald and several nieces & nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00AM at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, New Paltz, NY.
