My heart aches for Bert's family...his loss is so hard to accept. He grew up in Wiccopee as we did, and he was like a part of our family. He was always so full of energy and such an interesting friend. My deepest sympathy to Bert's family and to all of us who will miss him.

I spent many summers growing up with all the Macy children..My best memories are of all the fun we all had with each other playing...The best one of "little bert" was the day his father came home early, and caught us both out in the fields with the .22s-we had taken out to shoot woodchucks.RIP my cousin-

Had dinner with my sons tonight with Bert on my mind. One of them opened his fortune cookie and it read "A chance meeting opens new doors to success and friendship" This was so true for my relationship with Bert. I met him by chance and through circumstance. He opened a door for me that I never expected to be opened. It brought along new friends and success I never thought I would see. He inspired me and filled me with confidence I never thought I had. I can only say Thanks Bert. You, along with a few others will be who I talk about to my sons as they continue to grow up. I know how much I owe to you. In the future, they will learn to understand how much they do to.

My deepest sympathy to Bert's family. I was happy but not surprised to see what a remarkable man he became, having known him only in his youth. I'm so deeply sorry to all the family for their loss.

I first met Bert in 1985 in Houston, Texas. Bert was a District Geophysicist for Champlin Petroleum at that time. Years later, Bert formed a company I had the pleasure of working for, Seismic Assistants, although Bert was already financially-set and retired by my time. It's important to note how intelligent Bert was. His was the innovative mind behind a superior method of merging 3D seismic datasets--a method that changed the way seismic was viewed and used that is still in use today. Lastly, Bert had a devious smile. His smile made you realize he knew something you didn't-- something about you which you didn't already know. He was a good, good man and I am proud I knew who he was.
