Laurel Wiley Obituary
Beacon - Laurel Jane Wiley, 80, a lifelong Beacon resident, died at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh on Friday, July 20, 2012.
Born in Beacon on January 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Elizabeth J. Hunt Smith. On July 26, 1953, she married George R. Wiley in Beacon. Laurel was predeceased in death by her husband on April 4, 1996.
Survivors include her son, Gregory Wiley and his wife Kathleen of Wappingers Falls; her grandsons, Joseph and Adam Wiley of Wappingers Falls; her sister, Marion Thomas and her husband Alfred of Glenham; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 23 at the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon, 50 Liberty Street, Beacon. Pastor Ben Larson-Wolbrink will officiate. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

My prayers and well wishes go to Mrs. Wiley's pride and joy her son Greg, her daughter in law and grandchildren. Throughout my childhood Greg was my best friend and I saw the relationship she had with him. She was always supportive, caring and kind. Her and Mr. Wiley were great together and she was always friendly and supportive to me. The world has lost a gift but heaven has gained an angel. I am sure she is sitting in heaven now talking with Mr. Wiley laughing and crying thinking about the wonderful life they had and the legacy they left behind. God bless all her family and friends.
