Lena Caroline (Morano) Schiller

Poughkeepsie - On October 16, 2020, our beloved Lena passed away with her family at her side. Lena was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. For many years Lena worked as a compassionate, gentle, and dedicated nurse. Lena had a loving, courageous, and giving spirit that will be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Above all, she adored and was dedicated to her children, Joseph and Natalie Schiller. Even through challenging circumstances, she continued to stay connected and attentive to her entire family and very dear friends. Lena was a gifted cook and baker, and all who had the opportunity to be fed in her kitchen remember her cooking with fondness. She touched the hearts of all she met and had a courageous spirit and strong will to live and enjoy each day. She is now reunited with her parents John and Nancy Lee Morano, and her beloved pets and loyal companions, Lola, Ryu and Masu. Lena adored animals of all shapes and sizes. In lieu of flowers and cards a donation to your favorite animal shelter can be made in her memory. Farenga Funeral Home in Astoria took care of Lena and the arrangements shortly after her passing. A final Catholic service will be planned in the future when it is safe to gather and remember our dear Lena.
