POUGHKEEPSIE - Linda Kafina LaTorre of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away November 21, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, she was a resident of Dutchess County for the past 20 years.

The daughter of the late Jean Boyarsky Felder, Martin Kafina and step-daughter of Murray Felder, she is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Marisa LaTorre, Susan LaTorre, Kristin Perez-Simmons and John Simmons, her sister, Marcia Gellert and Linda's beloved partner, William Mosher, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many close friends.

Linda received her M.S.W. degree from New York University. Exceptional in her work as a psychotherapist, she touched many lives. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was a talented writer, and had a flair and zest for living. Most of all she cared for people. She had the unique ability to truly listen and was always there for one in need. Linda will be missed by many.

The family would like to thank the hospice "angels" and Linda's friends who cared so sensitively for her throughout her long illness. They helped her live life to the fullest continuing to bring comfort and meaning to her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice or the American Lung Association. There are no calling hours. A service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of William G.
