Louise J. Coons

Pine Plains, NY - Louise J. Coons, 91, passed away at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT, on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.

Born on September 9, 1923 in Ancram, NY, she was the daughter of Raymond and Julia (Finkle) Beckley.

On December 2, 1941, she married Ralph E. Coons in Rhinecliff, NY. Ralph predeceased Louise in 2004.

Louise was a nurse's aide for several years at Northern Dutchess Hospital as well as a gifted seamstress in Pine Plains. She was also a member of the Pine Plains Presbyterian Church.

Louise is survived by her son Ralph Coons of Tucson, AZ; daughters Julia Coons of Pine Plains, Joy Ball of Red Hook, Joyce Caterino of Newburgh, Janice Kunen of Ghent, and Jo-Ann Coons of Copake; a brother Frederick Beckley of Tucson, AZ; 13 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 1st at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains, with Rev. Carol Miller officiating.
