Maria Haley Obituary
Wingdale - Maria Denes Haley, 81, a resident of Earlton, NY formerly a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY died on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, in Albany, NY. Mrs. Haley was a therapy aide at Wassaic Developmental Center for 20 years retiring in 1990.
Born on August 13, 1934 in Cegled, Hungary she was the daughter of the late Eistvan and Maria (Boos) Szalisznyo. On May 18, 1985 in the town of Dover, NY she married James Haley who predeceased her on December 8, 2006.
Mrs. Haley is survived by two sons, Joseph Denes of Pawling, NY and Steven Penczu of Tennessee; six daughters, Maria Denes Garrow Russell and her husband, Randy, of Earlton, NY, Elizabeth Denes of Beacon, NY, Margaret Penczu of Climax, NY, Edith Buckley and her husband, Michael, of Holmes, NY, Peggy Penczu of Stormville, NY and Helen Durning Norris of Granger, IN. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. For directions or to send the family an online condolence, please visit www.hufcutfuneralhome.com
