Mary Berlin Obituary
Boca Raton, FL - Mary Ellen Garrity Berlin died July 20th, 2021, the daughter of John B. Garrity and Florence Pollard Garrity. She was born July 9th,1947 at Rockville Center, Long Island, NY. Predeceased by her parents, Mary Ellen was raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, attended Poughkeepsie High School and graduated from the Miramar School in Newport, Rhode Island. Mary Ellen worked as secretary to Surrogate Raymond C. Baratta until she moved to Boston, MA where she worked for Xerox Corporation as a secretary, inside sales support, then sales executive. She moved to Boca Raton, FL where she met and married, after a 30-year courtship, her devoted husband, Jordan R. Berlin, who survives her. Survivors also include her sisters, Eileen Quinn (Denny) and Jane Serokosz (Frank) as well as brother John (Joyce) and brothers Peter and Richard (Maricela). Mary Ellen is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 13 grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Jude Church, Boca Raton, FL, under the direction of Glick Funeral Home and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Poughkeepsie, NY at the convenience of her family. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
