- Michael A. Wimberly, 55 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully with a host of family members by his side at Vassar Brothers Medical Center on Saturday, April 26, 2014

Michael also known as "Gayce" was born on February 10, 1959 in Washington D.C. to Charlie Wimberly Sr. and the late Irene Wimberly. Michael "Gayce" moved to Poughkeepsie at a young age. He attended and graduated from Poughkeepsie City Schools. Throughout high school he was a member of various sports teams. He was an avid sports fan especially basketball. He was employed at Shatz Federal Bearing for 14 years. He was also employed at International Harvest.

He is survived by his wife Zenia Wimberly and 2 children Michael Wimberly Jr. and Malayshia Wimberly as well as 2 step children; May-May Wimberly and Malaysia I. Wimberly al of charlotte, NC. His loving father Charlie Wimberly Sr. of Hyde Park; 2 sisters Donna White of Hyde Park, NY and Rose Gordon of Poughkeepsie, NY , a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Irene Wimberly and brother Charlie Wimberly Jr.

I am so saddened by the loss of my dear cousin, Andre aka Gacey. Memories of his sweet, warm smile and demeanor are flashing thru my mind as I reflect on our childhood.
