Molly M. DiCola

Poughkeepsie - Molly M. DiCola, 85, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on July 3, 2018 in Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born in Yonkers, NY on June 23, 1933, the daughter of Mike & Dora (Mirenghi) Ahmed. Molly was a graduate of Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY.

She married the love of her life, Alfred A. "Al" DiCola on June 9, 1956 in Yonkers, NY. He predeceased her on March 28, 2002. Molly was employed as an Executive Secretary for many years at Dutchess Bank and retired from Bank of New York in Poughkeepsie, NY. Prior to working at Dutchess Bank, she worked with her husband in the office of his printing shop. After her retirement, she enjoyed working part time at the Hallmark store in Poughkeepsie Plaza. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappinger Falls, NY and past volunteer at the former St. Francis Hospital. Molly was devoted to her husband and her family, and she adored her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and was a kind, generous person. Molly loved cooking, baking, entertaining and keeping a beautiful home. Nobody left her table hungry and seconds were always larger than firsts which truly was a testament to her giving personality. She loved her church and celebrating Mass. Molly was a classy, sweet lady and was loved by everyone she met.

Survivors include her son: Alfred A. "Al" DiCola of Bridgeport, CT.; daughter: Doretta DiCola of Poughkeepsie, NY; Grandchildren: Francesco and his wife Constance, Michael and his wife Krista, Giancarlo, Robert and his fiance Sarina, Cristina, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Doretta's boyfriend Silvestro "Sonny" Rocchio. She was predeceased by her brothers: Alexander, Robert, Michael; sister: Nancy and a granddaughter: Alyssa.

Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018, 9-10:15AM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
