Amenia, NY - Nancy Waller Dakin, 81, a longtime area resident, died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at her son's home in Bloomingdale, NY. Mrs. Dakin was a secretary for the Foundation for Christian Living at the Peale Center in Pawling, NY for 27 years retiring in 1991.

Born March 10, 1932 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frederick M. and Josephine (Swain) Waller. On September 6, 1953 in Sherman, CT, she married Rev. Earl J. Dakin who survives. Mrs. Dakin was a member of the Netherwood Baptist Church in Salt Point, NY.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Earl J. Dakin, Jr. and his Companion, Cindy Woodson, of Bloomingdale, NY; Keith Dakin and his wife, Amy, of Pawling, NY and a daughter, Carol A. Newman of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kyle and Aubrey Dakin of Pawling, NY; her sister, Susan Howland of South Kent, CT; her niece, Barbara Howland Morton and her husband, Dan, of South Kent, CT; a brother, Frederick M. Waller, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Hodgen, OK and two nieces, Amber and Rebecca and a nephew, Frederick M. Waller III.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey Conley officiating. Burial will follow at South Dover Rural Cemetery, Wingdale, NY.
