Nancy Melilli Obituary

Nancy A. Melilli

Nancy A. Melilli, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was born on November 1, 1938 in Brooklyn to the late Emanuele and Nunzia Minardi. On February 23, 1957 she married the late Joseph Melilli at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Brooklyn. Mr. Melilli passed away on March 8, 1997. They later moved to Dutchess County in 1964 to raise their family. Nancy loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and embroidering.

Nancy is survived by her sons; Carmelo and his spouse Pat, Emanuele and his partner Tony and Anthony and his spouse Kathleen; daughter Maria and her spouse Andrew Terrell; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister in law Teresa Melilli and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Angelo Minardi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10 AM at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie with burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.

Memorial donations may be made in Nancy's name to the AmericanCancerSociety.org

To the Melilli family, I just learned of the loss of your mother, she was my mom's very dear friend for years.. as she called her , they were partners in crime. My mom was Harriet and their friendship spanned many years. I will miss her. My thoughts , love and prayers go out to all of you as you were her pride and joy.
