Nelly Degiorgi-Lorusso

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Nelly Degiorgi-Lorusso, of Wappingers Falls since 2001 and formerly of Beacon and Buenos Aires, Argentina, entered into rest on Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was 90.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 24, 1921 Nelly was the daughter of Carlo and Teresa Guastali Degiorgi. Nelly married Dr. Domingo Lorusso on February 5, 1948 in Buenos Aires. Dr. Lorusso predeceased Nelly in 2001. Nelly was a high school teacher and principal in Buenos Aires before she moved to Beacon in 1999.

Nelly is survived by her son, Luis Mario Lorusso of Exton, PA; her daughter, Ines E. Augie and her husband, Stanley of Wappingers Falls; her granddaughter, Robin C. Augie of Wappingers Falls.

The family will receive their friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 3 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.

Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 301 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
