Hyde Park - Nicholas C. Flannery, 18, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.

Born May 1, 1995 in New York City, he was the son of Charlotte C. Flannery and Ronald Malpeli.

A local resident for most of his life, Nicholas attended F.D. Roosevelt High School and worked for Spartan Security as a Security Guard.

He enjoyed cooking, skateboarding, and was a NY Yankees fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Nora and Clare Flannery of Hyde Park; his son, Ethan of Dutchess County; his step mother, Marie Riolo; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM, on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park, NY.

In keeping with his family's wishes Nicholas will be cremated.

Nicholas's family respectfully requests memorial donations to The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education of Dutchess County, Inc. (CAPE), 807 Route 52 Rm. 28, Fishkill, NY 12524 (www.capedc.org)

I kept telling myself this couldn't be true, it couldn't be you. I remember how you always had a smile on your face & you were always the optimistic one never saying anything negative always having positive outlooks. You were the joker & you could make anyone laugh, the room would lighten & brighten up when you'd walk in it. I'll miss you dearly Nick you were one of a kind, rest easy buddy.
