Hi Folks.....
I read today of your Dads passing from Linguaglossa,Sicilia.....where I grewup....spending summers as a youth with my Moms family.......The Baroness ! Read with a touch of sadness .....the passing of Bill stow and Jeff.....real sad ....they were so Down to Earth ! Feel bad for Betty and the Sherows from PV.....They really supported me and my deceased fiancé in the 90’s....with the occasional purchase of an antique. We were forever for their friendship and I’ll miss talkin to Bill about college football...I to was recruited by UConn.....instead played for Syracuse in 74.......out of The Millbrook School......we were undefeated and beat Millbrook High.....who had Neil Green...NYS.....100yrd dash Camp and Biil Bremiller who went on to Vandy.....Oh....I promise Oak...I won’t forget Paul Beck and the Piggy’s....whew........Did I skip anybody? Oh Folks I hope this helps.....Onward we journey and life’s lessons endure. And sometimes youre just plain lucky to meet people like your Dad.....He was kind to everyone and I was one beneficiary......Thanks Oak and May God Keep You and Hold You In the Palm of His Hands.......Ciao....jefferdino Modigliani McCabe..".

Oakleigh considered himself a pig farmer as well, according to his Forbes 400 bio. l worked the summer of '84 up on Wilbur Hill cleaning the hog pens and putting up hay. The next few summers Jimmy Alexander had me working in the broodmare barns, and when Oakliegh took up polo l was recruited to go to the games with Zulu, and groomed for them both. What good times, my Thorndale years!
Oakleigh, it was a pleasure working for you, and just knowing you as a person has enriched my life greatly. Thank you and godspeed!

Oakleigh, for many decades we were members and personal friends in our beloved Meridian Club in the Turks and Caicos Islands. We will all miss you and your dry humor immensely; Pine Cay will not be the same without you.
Fare well!

As managers of Pine Cay...we got to know Oakleigh well. As stated, he loved to fish. He loved his family above all else and was proud of his kids and grandkids. He was a kind man. No matter your station in life, he was your friend. His stories could keep you mesmerized for hours and your sides aching from laughter.
We were fortunate to have met him and will miss him deeply.
Our sympathy goes out to Oak, Henry, Eliza, Jonathan along with their spouses and kids.

Sincere condolences to family. I have known “Oak Snr” for the last 13 years and can safely say that he was the kindest, funny and most generous person I know. For a man of such vast means he was a person hooked in the simplicity of life. He would wear the same clothes for years ( freshly laundered of course) and would be very comfortable in what he wore. So sad to hear of his passing a true legend and genuine gentleman .... this world has lost. RIP Oak Snr. ( the flats on Pine Cay will miss your presence) Xoxo
