Sneads Ferry, NC - Patricia M Sherman, 71, of Sneads Ferry, NC, and a former Red Hook resident, passed away on Thursday, July 7th, 2016 in North Carolina.

Born on November 26th, 1944, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Maybelle (Keller) Stolz. She earned her education degrees from SUNY New Paltz.

Pattie worked for many years at the Red Hook Central Schools- she is remembered as an "icon of the district" as a Teacher and Principal at Mill Road School and Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum. During this time she forged the relationship between the school and Bard College creating the Arts in Education Program. Pattie was a member of Phi Delta Kappa International Association of Professional Educators and was involved with the Dutchess County Arts Council.

Upon moving to Sneads Ferry, NC, Patricia became involved in that community, including the Sneads Ferry Historical Society and Topsail Island Museum.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Yost of Sneads Ferry, NC; her daughter and son in law, Tara and Todd Grieb of Red Hook, NY; her sister, Jacqueline Albers of Sneads Ferry, NC; her loving grandchildren, Peyton Horst, Kelcie Horst, and Trevor Grieb; a niece and nephew, along with many extended family, colleagues and friends.

A local celebration of Pattie's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 pm.

Memorial donations may be made in Patricia's memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
