Peter Buttitta Obituary
Hyde Park - Hyde Park - Peter A. Buttitta, 57, of Hyde Park, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family. An area resident for 23 years, he was formerly of Bronx, NY.
Born April 6, 1954 in Palermo, Sicily, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Concetta Cardinale Buttitta.
Peter was an auto mechanic at Prestige Automotive in Kingston, retiring in 1992 due to his illness. He was an avid motorcycle and car enthusiast.
On August 10, 1974 at St. Francis of Rome Church in the Bronx, he married the former Marie DiBiasi. Mrs. Buttitta survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Peter Buttitta and daughter-in-law Kristen; daughter, Katrina Buttitta and son-in-law Alan VanBuskirk; grandchildren Colin, Cassie, and Sean Buttitta; sisters, Christine Ferrari, and Linda Hume; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be from 4 - 7 PM, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Palazzo on Wednesday, April 4th at 10AM at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Inurnment will follow at The Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
