Raymond Chase Obituary
Hopewell Junction - Raymond "Cheesy" Chase, 82, a long-time resident of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY on Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
Born on August 6, 1931 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Nelson and Mary (Ferris) Chase. Cheesy served in the US Army during the Korean War and had worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Town of Pawling Recreation Department.
Cheesy was a life-time member of the Beekman Fire Department and was a former member of the Beekman Fire Police, a former member of the Beekman Lions Club, and a life member of VFW, Inc. in Ephrata, PA.
He is survived by his son, Scott Wayne Chase of NY, two daughters, Melody McGrath and her husband Hank of North Carolina and Faithann Chase of Redding, PA; two brothers, James Chase of Stormville, NY and Charley Chase of Poughquag, NY; five grandchildren; and his sister-in-law Ellie Chase of Stormville, NY.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his step-mother, Jennie Chase.
Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY on Saturday, September 13th from 9-11 AM, with a funeral service at the funeral home at 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in the Hasler-Kamp Post American Legion Post Plot in Pawling Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Raymond Chase may be made to the Beekman Rescue Squad, c/o Beekman Fire Department, Beekman-Poughquag Road, Poughquag, NY 12570.
