Regina Tompkins Obituary

Regina Mary Fabrizio Tompkins

Beacon - Regina Mary Fabrizio Tompkins,

On this day, April 5, 2013, Regina was gently taken into the arms of our Father, our Lord, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family.

Regina was born on February 11, 1934, to Guiseppe P. Fabrizio and Gennoveffa Stella Canino Fabrizio.

She was one of thirteen children...

Regina just turned 79 years young.

Born and raised in Beacon, both "mom and dad", had met in the summer of June 1950 and began dating. Regina and Stanton worked together at the Ole Kartergainers Hat Company, in Beacon.

In February of 1951, Dad was drafted into the US Army and one month later, they were engaged to be married. On dad's first furlow home, Regina and Stanton were married on June 16, 1951 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Beacon, Rev. A.O. Tritsch officiated the ceremony. Then off to the service to finish dad's tour. Soon after they began their family, and had four children.

"When we were young kids" mom belonged to the PTA, at Forrestal Elementary School. She enjoyed being involved with the school. Mom was a "Great" Mom, from taking us to school, to carting around an entire baseball team, to work, to dance classes, to the ski races. She was truly a caring supportive, and most loving mom. And for that she will be greatly missed.

Regina also worked for Grand Union Co. in Beacon for several years and at the Pergament Home Center in Fishkill.

Although, Regina's first passion in life was her children and family she had another passion in life which was her four German Shepards, Collie and Black Lab, not to mention her cats. She was their "Angel" and they loved her back greatly. Regina's third passion was bowling. Mom was an avid bowler and enjoyed every moment. She bowled at Touponse Bowling Lanes, in Beacon, Fishkill Bowl, Fishkill, and at Pat Tarsio Lanes, in Newburgh. These were "special" memories for mom. Bowling with her sisters, daughter, and so many friends, "we all" have these special memories with you mom xoxo. Regina is survived by her husband, Stanton C. Tompkins of Beacon, and their children; Stanton T. Tompkins and fiance Ann Marie Clarke of Charlotte, NC, Wayne J. Tompkins and wife Lori of Poughkeepsie, one daughter, Cheri J. Tompkins-Arquilla and her fiance George J. Carrozzelli of Beacon, three sisters, Rosemarie (Rome) Lawson of Henderson, NV, Stella Conners of Newburgh, Dolores (Dolly) and Michael Stack of Haverhill, MA, two brothers, Rudolf V. and Hazel Fabrizio of Long Island, Romolo Fabrizio of New Windsor. I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Jeannie's passing. She was one of my mom's baby sisters. In 1950 when my mom went to the hospital to have our brother Anthony, she came and stayed with the rest of us kids. When we were told we had a new brother she let us have a little celebration party. Three years later my mom had her last baby, a girl, and named her Regina after her. I'll always remember her kindness, gentle voice when she was speaking to us, her hair scarves and her lipstick. Rest in peace now, Aunt Jeannie, for you suffering here on earth is done. God Bless You.

My Dearest Aunt Jeannie ,
Words can't even begin to express the Joy ,Kindness, happiness laughter, thoughtfulness and AMAZING memories you have given me as your niece growing up .Cheri and I would be stuck together like glue and do some CRAZY things and you just shook your head and smiled :).Your potatoe salad was the bomb too !!!! I remember on bowling nights mom would be waiting for you to show up (which you were late lol) and I would go outside the parking lot and sure enough you would FLY into the parking lot and run in to catch up your missed frames .So here the time has come the Dear Lord has taken you under his wing for someday we will meet again and eat your famous potatoe salad.I Love and miss you dearly
