Picciuolo, Sr.
ELIZAVILLE - Robert C. Picciuolo, Sr., 76, of Elizaville, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY.
Mr. Picciuolo worked for many years as a highway engineer, completing his career with Morris Associates in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He had a love of music and was the founder and member of the bands -"Big Daddy and the Villagers" and "Crossroads". He was a devoted New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.
Robert's greatest joy was being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by many.
Born on November 27, 1934, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Giulio Picciuolo and Hortence (Romano) Picciuolo.
Robert married Madeline Moore on June 19, 1955 in St. John's Reformed Church in Red Hook, NY and she survives at home in Elizaville.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, whom he loved deeply he is survived by his adoring and devoted family- two daughters and son in laws; Linda and PJ Dempsey of Germantown, NY, and Tammy and Jeff Chandler of Rhinebeck, NY, two sons; Robert "Bobby" Picciuolo, Jr of Red Hook, NY, and Ricky Picciuolo and his wife Betty of Red Hook, NY, five grandchildren; Amanda Picciuolo and her companion, Bill Rogers, Justin Patrick Dempsey, Jeffery Chandler and his wife Deanna, Brandon Picciuolo, and Michael Picciuolo, two great grandchildren; Christian Patrick Rogers, and Reilly Loralyn Chandler, two step brothers, Lance Stalzer of Ulster Park, NY, and Robin Stalzer of Poughkeepsie, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
A brother; Jules Picciuolo and stepfather David Stalzer predeceased him.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm. A memorial service will begin at 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 333 Seventh Avenue, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
