Robert F. Stickler

POUGHKEEPSIE - Robert F. Stickler, 95, of the City of Poughkeepsie, passed away on July 27, 2015 in The Pines of Poughkeepsie. He was born in Poughkeepsie on September 16, 1919, the son of Charles F. & Matilda Huhn Stickler. Robert graduated from local schools and went into the U.S. Army Air Corp. during W.W.II.

He was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Poughkeepsie, NY for many years. Robert was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Republican National Party, a past officer in the Letter Carriers Union-N.A.R.F.E. and an avid baseball and football fan.

Survivors include his step-daughters: Monica and Diana both of Poughkeepsie; sister: Doris Fitzpatrick of Penn Yan, NY and many nieces and nephews. he was predeceased by his wife Joan Madden Stickler on January 22, 1999 and sisters: Jean Hart, Charlotte Witherwax, Margaret Schultz, Joan Brown and Dorothy Stickler.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2015, 8:30-9:30AM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial Donations may be made to The Diabetes Association121 Executive Dr., Ste 200, New Windsor, NY 12553.
