Wappingers - Roselyn Carmela Ilker of Wappingers Falls entered into rest on Wednesday, June

15, 2016 after a brief illness. She was 88 years young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Nickola D'Angelo, was born in Newark, NJ, graduated from Weequahic High

School and went directly to work at Prudential Insurance Co. She traveled to the

Prudential training center in central NJ, to instruct other employees in her area of

expertise. While there, she met Herbert Ilker. After a year of courtship, they were

married in May,1960, on her mother's birthday in Verona, N.J., by Rev. Paul

Koepchen in Calvary Lutheran Church . She worked more than 15 years at

Prudential, and moved to Cape Cod, Mass. They honeymooned in Chicago, then

in Colorado at the Broadmore Hotel. She traveled with her husband on the East

Coast from Cape Cod to Cape Fear, N.C. They moved to Orange, N.J., then to

Wappingers Falls, N.Y. She loved flowers and gardening, and also clothing

materials and clothes. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her

dresses. She had 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She had 2 sons, Kurt, born in Mass. and

Scott, born in N.J. She enjoyed vacationing and took the family on a 2 week

vacation to the Hawaiian Islands. The family became members of St. Johns

Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. with Rev. Sievert. Roz and

Herb vacationed to the Midwest to see her brothers son, Anthony and his family,

and Herbs brother Richard and his family. The family took many trips around the

East Coast. She was a member of several local clubs and had many friends who

learned she was a special loving person, most of them have preceded her. She is

survived by her brother Nicholas and his wife Marianne, her husband Herbert,

sons Kurt with his three children, Mateus, Veronica and Lucas, and Scott, his wife

Doreen, and daughter Amber Lynn Rose, and many nieces and nephews. Calling

hours will be 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home on 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, New York. The service for Christian burial will be held 10AM at St. John's Lutheran Church on Wilbur Blvd in Poughkeepsie, Rev. Daniel Ward presiding. Burial follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery on Rt. 9. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in her name.
