Sidney Rule, Sr.

Dover Plains - Sidney Andrew Rule, Sr., 67, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Rule worked as a supervisor technician at the former Tredegar Industries in Holmes, NY.

Born on March 8, 1947 in Port Henry, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. Rule, Sr. and Lena Plumadore Rule. On July 23, 1966 in Ticonderoga, NY, he married Barbara Bishop who survives at home.

Mr. Rule enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family, playing his guitar and all types of electronics.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Sidney Andrew Rule, Jr. and his wife, Minerva, of Millbrook, NY and Scott William Rule of Dover Plains, NY; three brothers, Robert Rule of Port Henry, NY, Alfred Rule of Mineville, NY and Harlen Granger of Putnam Station, NY and a sister Yvonne Trybendus of Warrensburg, NY. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sidney Andrew Rule III and Samantha Marion Rule. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Lawrence E. Rule, Jr., Roger Rule, Howard Granger and Harry Granger and a sister, Laura Granger.
