Thomas Walsh Obituary
FAIRPORT - Thomas J. Walsh, 78, formerly of Clinton Corners, NY, died on July 28, 2016 at his home in Fairport, NY. "Tom" Walsh, son of the late James and Martha Walsh, brother to Paul Beers (predeceased) and Patricia Quigley of California, was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 11, 1938. He graduated from Northport High School and went on to the American Institute of Banking where he met his late wife, Arlene C. Sparling. They were married on May 26, 1963. He served as Vice President at Bank of New York Melon (formerly Dutchess Bank & Trust Co.). Tom served his country in the Army National Guard, served as the treasurer of The Boy Scouts Council of the Hudson Valley and was also a former member of the Stanfordville Lions Club. He is survived by his children: Kevin (Donna) of Poughkeepsie, NY; Matthew (Ann) of Rochester, NY: and Caroline (Joe) of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Jesse, Emily, Ryan, Erin, Cameron and Maggie. He met a friend everywhere he went and was a stranger to no one. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Church of the Messiah at 6436 Montgomery St., Rhinebeck, NY 12572. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering in the church hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Perinton Volunteer Ambulance (1400 Turk Hill Rd, Fairport, NY 14450) or the American Heart Association.
