McWalters
Lagrange, NY - William T. McWalters passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Born in the Bronx on April 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Delia (Forde) and William B. McWalters. A graduate of Mt. Saint Michaels Academy in the Bronx, he also graduated from the RCA Institute of Electronics. He was an US Air force veteran and had been employed by IBM until his retirement in 1992 as a customer engineer. A member of various organizations, he was very proud of his American Legion affiliation. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed travelling and camping.
Known as "Bill" to his family, he is survived by his loving companion Ellen McDonald and her family with whom he made his home, a brother Thomas McWalters of Pawling, NY, brother and sister in law James McWalters and Janette of Queens, NY, a nephew and three nieces in addition to several friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joseph in 2012.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday, November 8th from 4pm-7pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Street level and wheelchair accessible entrance located off Vassar Street. A Funeral Home service will be held 11 am on Monday, November 9th at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
