William H. Novak, Sr. "Bill" born in Astoria, NY on September 7, 1930. Only child to Charles Novak and Barabra Flannigan. Married to the love of his life and his "greatest sparring partner", Teddy Darrow on December 23, 1951 at Saint Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, NY. Bill found himself serving "reluctantly in the Marine Corp." and latter settled in Hopewell Junction. Bill established and operated many sucessful businesses in the housing industry. He developed some of the premier housing communities in Southern Dutchess County including Covered Bridge, Winding Oaks, Brandy Lane, Dogwood, Strawberry Hill and Judith Drive. He was a generous supporter of many causes, especially the Navy Seals, Segways for Vets, several Humane Societies and the East Fishkill Community.
He is survied by his wife Teddy, his sons and daughters-in-laws, Bill and Cheri, Bob and Barabra, Tim and Gayle, six grandchildren and one great grandchild, Eli.
He was predeceased by his half sister, half-brother and many canines. Bill was a bigger than life personality, who will be missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him well.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, from 4 to 8 pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 900 Route 82, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533
Bill wanted a party so all are invited at 6 PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Tomas Tapas at 900 Route 376 in East Fishkill.

I will miss his kind heart, warm spirit and never ending desire to see the underdog who is not afraid to work gain ground in life. His willingness to take a chance on the unknown or on someone or something. Always looking for the best in all. Seeking adventure in each day while offering a hand up and most times not even realizing what a help he had been to someone else. Bill's compassion and love always shined through that tough exterior. Those who knew him knew he was warm and tender no matter how strong a facade he cloaked himself in. We love you Bill. You helped me grow and learn so much about life and living and giving of ones self. You are greatly missed already and we will love you always. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your life and share in the greatness of your wisdom and benefit from your many teachings.
