Dale G. Boerhave, 84

Dale G. Boerhave, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, October 14, 2015 Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City with Pastor Alecia Williams officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will be at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to North Liberty Pantry

Dale was born September 17, 1931 in Sheldon, Iowa, the son of John and Ruth (Teitema) Boerhave. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1950 and from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics. On November 21, 1961, Dale married Carol Peterson in Pocahontas. Carol passed away on April 8, 2010.

Dale proudly served the public for 30 years as a guidance counselor for the Job Service of Iowa. He enjoyed gardening, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and the Iowa State Cyclones, keeping up on current events and politics, and most of all spending time with family. He was a member of North Liberty United Methodist Church and for over 10 years enjoyed going on church mission trips to Mexico.

He is survived by his three children; Scott Boerhave of North Liberty, Natasha Parris of North Liberty and Tanya Boerhave of Osceola. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Steve Parris.
