Darin Swartzendruber Obituary

Darin L. Swartzendru-ber, 45, of rural Oxford, died suddenly, Saturday, July 9, 2011 of pneumonia, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Darin chose to be cremated. His family will host a memorial service at a later date.
Darin was born December 22, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, the son of D. Dale and Nadine (Nighbert) Swartzendruber. Growing up in Iowa City, Darin worked for Facilities Management at the University of Iowa.
He married Hongli "Lily" Dai May 25, 2002 in Downey, Iowa.
Darin loved his family very much and was a very caring and loving individual with a big heart. He possessed a natural creative talent for many things.
Survivors include his wife Lily, step-son, Jian Zhang of Oxford; Darin's children, Joshua and Amy, of Texas; mother and step-father, Nadine and Don Pfister of Iowa City, brothers and sisters, Reggie (Sue) Swartzendruber of West Amana, Vicki (Jerry) Wear of Iowa City; Randy (Joy) Swartzendruber of Kaufman, Texas, Kevin (Candas) Swartzendruber of Iowa City and Melanie Justice of Iowa City; step brothers and sister, Kevin (Dana) Pfister of West Liberty, Lorie Stransky of Arkansas, Mike (Stacy) Pfister Homestead, father and mother in law, Dai Showen and Bao Shuqin of China, and many nieces and nephews.
