On June 21, 2021, one day after his 86th birthday, John Calvin Molea entered the gates of Heaven.
Born June 20, 1935 to John Molea Sr. and Fillipa Palermo in Winchester, MA. At age seven, his family moved to Texas then San Diego, and by 1951 John was on a boxing team in Mountain View, California, and a very good boxer at that!
After 2 terms in the National Guard Reserves he became a skilled commercial painter, master sprayer for housing tracts in San Jose, California. John moved his family to Ben Lomond in 1965 and the well-known commercial painter took on many homes in his neighborhood and throughout the county, even painting the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Roller Coaster in 1979.
Paint brush aside, John was an expert water skier, member of the Santa Cruz Water Ski Club, expert diver and loved all water sports. He loved ballroom dancing on the Golden State Dance Team.
Retirement gladly meant more time for hunting, fishing, archery.
John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Deborah Molea, John's daughter, Cherie Rodriguez, sons John Gene Molea and Michael Molea, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, John's sister Joan and brother in law Jerry and his only niece Lanae.
We miss him dearly.
