Agnes Hartigan Obituary
Binghamton -
Agnes M. Hartigan 85, of Binghamton passed away August 2, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Margaret Gallagher; husband James Hartigan; stepson Kevin Hartigan; and Joseph Galli.
She is survived by daughter and husband Meg and Stephen Stone; daughter in-law Lisa Hartigan; grandchildren Jamison (Kate) Stone, Siena Stone, Sydney Stone, Matthew Hartigan, Timothy (Chelsea) Hartigan, Lucas Hartigan; great-grandchildren Henry, Evelyn, Harvey, Holden, Greta, Florence, Noah, Mattox; Jim's children Chris, Mary, Theresa and their families; special friends Cathy and Bill McGowan; Judy and Francis Stone.
Agnes retired from U.E. School District as a Physical Education Teacher. After retirement, she became a docent at the Ross Park Zoo where she continued her love of teaching. Her love of travel took her all over the world. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 13, 2021 from 9:15 until 9:45am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Agnes's name to the Ross Park Zoo 185 Park Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903

I think of Aggie quite often. She was such a strong
believer in the Ross Park Zoo and dedicated so much time and energy helping to make it great. That's where I met her and enjoyed working with her in all the gardens she helped create. A truly wonderful person.

So sorry to learn of Aggie's passing. I had the opportunity to work with Aggie as a volunteer at the Ross Park Zoo. She loved the zoo and devoted so much time at the zoo. She will be sadly missed! Much sympathy to her family.

I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Hartigan's passing (forever Mrs. Hartigan to me). She was my elementary school teacher and I have very fond memories of her. My deepest condolences to her family

I volunteered at the zoo for a number of years, nobody was a more passionate advocate for the zoo than Aggie. Her dedication to and passion for the zoo was unmatched. A lovely woman and a huge loss.
