Arthur "Ozzie" Daniels
of GreeneArthur "Ozzie" Daniels, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 22, 2005. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Ruth Daniels; a brother, Russell; and by special friends, Otis and Norma Wightman. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; his children, Sarah, Breanna, and Brett; brothers and sisters, Jackie and Butch Jenks, Greene, Kathy Benedict, Bainbridge, Gordon and Natalie Daniels, Bainbridge, Jim and Beth Daniels, Greene, Martha and A.J. Jones, Corning, Mary and Russell Howell, Timmonsville, S.C., David and Debra Daniels, Chenango Forks, Mark and Kendra Daniels, Pocatello, Idaho, Bruce and Judy Daniels, Binghamton, Seana Kemp Coker, Johnsonville, S.C.; special aunt and uncle, Marjory and Clinton Clark; many nieces, nephews, cousins, personal friends, and his State Police family. Ozzie served his country in the US Army from 1970 to 1973 and he was a very patriotic American. He pursued a Criminal Justice Degree at Hudson Valley Community College and at RIT. He was employed by the Greene and Norwich Police Departments prior to his 26 years with New York State Police, where he was a Senior Investigator at Troop C. Ozzie enjoyed many community sport activities with his brothers and friends. He took great pride in his affiliation with the New York State Police and other local police agencies. His life revolved around the love of his family and his wife of 24 years and the love and pride he had in his children.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Berean Bible Church in Greene. Rev. William Reid will officiate. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 1 until 3 and from 6 until 9 p.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 8 N. Canal St., Greene, N.Y. 13778, or to The Trooper Foundation- State of New York, Inc., 3 Airport Park Blvd., Latham, N.Y. 12110-1441. The family wishes to thank Dr. Masarech, his office staff, the Greene Emergency Squad, and the New York State Police, for all of their support.
