Blanche Greene Obituary
Blanche R. Greene, of Greene, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. Blanche Rose Greene, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. Blanche was predeceased by her loving husband Robert; parents Daniel and Rose Buckley; brothers Edward and Jack; sisters Evelyn, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Marjorie and Sarah. Blanche is survived by children and grandchildren, son and daughter-in-law Robert & Lita Greene and daughters Kate and Tess; son, Daniel Greene; daughter and son-in-law Kathy & John Pilkington and sons Jarrett and Jensen; daughter and son-in-law Sue & John Carlin and sons John, Dan, Jeff and Matt. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rev. George & Shirley Greene; and sister-in-law Susanne Greene; and several nieces and nephews. Blanche graduated from Clinton Central High School Class of 1945. Mom took her role as wife, mother, grandmother and friend to heart. It was truly her calling. She was a devout Catholic and her faith provided her with such comfort. She loved to laugh and whistle. All that knew her, will always remember those precious sounds. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:45 am Saturday with Funeral Mass immediately following at Immaculate Conception Church, Greene. Friends of the family may call Friday from 1 to 3:00pm and 5 to 8:00 pm at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 . In lieu of flowers the family requests you consider a donation to the Immaculate Conception Church Youth Ministry, 1180 State Hwy. 206, Greene, NY or the Greene Emergency Squad, Inc., 30 Birdsall St., Greene, NY, 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
