Reynolds, David J. "Skip"

David J. Reynolds ("Skip") died peacefully on Monday August 21, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Arleigh Jay and Mary Delaney Reynolds, and his brothers Michael, Richard, and Edwin. Skip is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Kathleen Conole Reynolds, and his children Molly Reynolds Fitzgerald (John Scanlon), David Jay (Marie) Reynolds Jr., and Daniel D. Reynolds (Nancy Barno Reynolds). He is also survived by grandchildren Jack, PJ. (Heather), and Dennis Fitzgerald, Eileen, Daniel(Margaret), Erin (Ruben), Darby Gerau (Bryan), Delaney, and Emmett Reynolds, Martin, Meg, Eamon, and Cate Reynolds, as well as several great-grandchildren. Skip is also survived by his loving sister Kathleen Chambers (Art) and his brother William (Mary), as well as many nieces and nephews. Skip was a graduate of Harper College and received his MBA from Syracuse University. He was proud of his Service as a First Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. A longtime employee of Broome County, Skip had many accomplishments as Chief Planner, including the development of the Broome Corporate and Kirkwood Industrial Parks. Skip was a life-long athlete. He excelled in several sports, and was an avid runner, running a five mile route daily until his mid-seventies. He was a great dancer, avid reader, and generous soul who possessed a ready wit and good nature. Skip was a proud Irishman, and long time member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He and Kathy traveled to Ireland seven times. While they traveled extensively throughout the world, no place was more special to them than their yearly vacation to Sanibel Island, where Kathy sunned on the beach while Skip ran his daily route, completing each day under the lanai with a gin and tonic and Gulf shrimp! Skip was a pillar of St. Patrick's Church, where he served as Head Usher for thirty years. He loved the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. Mostly though, Skip loved his family. He had a never ending love affair with his wife, Kathy, and was never happier than when he was sitting in his chair in the family room surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was an incredible source of love, comfort, and strength for all of them. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Leroy and Oak Streets, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Reynolds, Dave, and the entire Reynolds family:
We are very sorry to hear about Mr. Reynolds. He was a good man and will be missed. He put many miles on his car driving Dave and myself around in our youth and he always had a cold beer ready for us when we got older. Many prayers are being said for you all at this time.
